The formula
Guest tables = guests ÷ seats per table, rounded up. Extra tables are then added explicitly for functions that are not guest seating.
Check the real furniture
“Eight seats per table” is not universal. Table diameter/length, chair width, place settings and room circulation all matter. Use the actual venue or hire-company furniture specification before finalising the layout.
