How Many Balloons Do I Need for a Garland?
There is no single balloons-per-metre number for every garland. Length × design density is the useful framework; balloon sizes and desired fullness determine the density.
Measure the finished path
Measure where the garland will actually run, including curves or drops. A three-metre wall does not automatically mean a three-metre garland.
Choose density from the design
A sparse single row uses far fewer balloons than a packed organic garland. Mixed small balloons can also fill gaps and increase the count. If you are following a specific kit or tutorial, use its tested density as your calculator input.
Add spares separately
Pops and imperfect balloons happen during inflation and installation. Current specialist guides commonly recommend a spare allowance, but the useful percentage depends on balloon quality and setup risk. Keep it editable.
Air versus helium
Most attached garlands and arches can be air-filled and mechanically supported; floating balloon arrangements are a different job. Follow the balloon and helium supplier's instructions if helium is used.
