Party Playlist Calculator
Calculate from net music time, not simply the length of the party. Enter speeches, games, food or other planned non-music time as one visible deduction.
Formula
Net music minutes = party minutes โ planned non-music minutes. Divide that by average track length, then add the reserve you choose.
Why enter breaks as a total?
You may already know that speeches, cake, games or a meal will occupy 45 minutes. Entering that directly avoids inventing a universal break frequency that may not match your party.
Worked example
A four-hour party is 240 minutes. Deduct 45 minutes of planned non-music time to leave 195 minutes. At 3.5 minutes per track that is about 56 songs before reserve; adding 15% gives a target of 65 songs after rounding up.
Next step
Plan activity slots or fit entertainment into the wider timeline.
