Expected attendance = confirmed guests + pending invitations × your expected acceptance rate. The optional contingency is applied only to the planning headcount.
Why there is no universal RSVP percentage
Attendance depends on notice, travel, event type, guest relationship, date and many other factors. A fixed percentage can be useful as a scenario, but it should not masquerade as a fact. Replace the default with what you know about your own invitations.
